United States. RadTech, the UV and EB curing technology partnership, announced the adoption of ASTM D 7767-11: "Standard test method for measuring volatile compounds from radiation-cured acrylate monomers, oligomers, and thin mixtures and coatings."
The new method gives product formulators the means to compare raw material emissions data, using the information provided in an MSDS and to ensure product consistency using standard curing and test methods.
"AsTM's approval of this method culminates a 20-year effort between RadTech, ASTM and our industry to develop a valid emissions testing method for UV curing in delagdos acrylate coatings and this is a great fact for the radiation curing industry and for RadTech, "Hereby culminates in a 20-year effort between RadTech and this is a great fact for the radiation curing industry and for RadTech." said Robin Wright of 3M.
This method will be presented at the 2012 RadTech, which will be held in Chicago between April 30 and May 2. For more information about the standard click here, about the event visit www.radtech2012.com.
