International. A new transparent coating that works as thermal insulation and reduces the temperature of motorcycle exhaust pipes was developed by the American company Industrial Nanotech, in order to protect users of these transport systems from body burns by contact with high temperature pipes.
According to the Vice President of Business Development of Industrial Nanotech, Francesca Crolley, this product was developed based on technologies patented by the company that have already been tested in ducts of industrial and commercial facilities, in equipment whose processes are developed with heat and in metal handrails exposed to solar radiation.
"The holiday season is when most of these vehicles (motorcycles, electric bicycles and ATVs) are handled by children and adults, so we decided to launch this product to be considered as a vital complement to improve motorcycle safety, preventing body burns," Crolley said.
According to statistics from the National Library of Medicine of the National Institutes of Health in the United States, the problem of burns from contact with the exhaust pipes of motor vehicles is global. In fact, a European study indicates that 70% of accidents with burns correspond to motorcycle passengers, of which 65.3% are related to second-degree burns.
