Colombia. The company Corona, which for a couple of years has participated in the local market of paints and coatings announced the signing of an agreement with the multinational Lanco to produce and distribute in Central and South America different lines of paint and other construction materials, as reported by both companies to the media.
As a result of this agreement, the Pinturas y Materiales Corona brand is created, in which the Corona organization, from Colombia, maintains 55% of the stake, while Lanco will own the remaining 45%.
The nascent company has already launched its first new product on the market, it is a water-based architectural paint with ceramic microsphere technology that has good resistance to wear produced by the environment, is free of lead and ammonia, and has low odor.
"We hope to reach and grow in the paint and materials market outside of Colombia. We see that there is room for growth in this market and we want to occupy it by offering the consumer varied alternatives of high quality, "said the General Manager of Inputs and Construction Materials Corona, Jaime Alberto Ángel, to the local press.
Lanco currently has seven production plants in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and the United States, as well as six distribution centers and 32 own points of sale in Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, Corona operates 17 factories in Colombia and two in the U.S. In the USA, in which different building materials, ceramics and raw materials, among others, are produced.
