Repainting grows more than GDP

Brazil. Sales of automotive paint registered a growth of more than 10% during 2010 and are expected to exceed in percentage growth the national GDP by 2011, as confirmed by a study published by the firm Research and Markets.

The report also reveals that the purchasing power of Brazilians will grow considerably in the coming years, which opens the doors for an increase in sales of new vehicles and, consequently, of coatings for vehicle painting.

In addition to the market movement, which in the case of repainting remains stable, Research and markets refers to a trend of change from solvent-based paint systems to water-based and others with higher performance and performance.

Growth in this particular segment is expected to far exceed the stipulated GDP growth in 2011, which for now is estimated at 3.67%.
