Germany. The German company Lanxess reported that it has renewed its basic chemicals business unit with a new name: Advanced Industrial Intermediates. The new name seeks to establish direct contact with the brand's product portfolio, which emphasizes the association of business units with the advanced intermediate segment of Lanxess, which generated sales over 1,300 million euros in fiscal year 2010.
According to the company, the basic chemicals business unit has been repositioned in the last two years. He now focuses on the development of complex production processes and technological know-how. Among its main areas of activity is the coatings sector.
According to Dr. Hubert Fink, representative of this business unit, the new name is another bet on shaping a future for its business unit: "Successful developments have occurred in recent years. Acquisitions in China and India changed the face of the business unit. Within the company, the adipic acid business has been moved from the semi-crystalline products unit to ours. In addition, we have regained our economic strength after the crisis."
