United States. The new Terminal B that is under construction at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport in California is the first monumental architectural project to be built with layers of PPG's Duranar® powder.
These low-VOC powder coatings are formulated to provide the same durability as liquid coatings. To do this, they have relied on the same technology as polyvinylidene fluoride based coatings that have protected buildings for more than 40 years.
The powder coatings were applied to a series of curved metal panels located on the main structure of this terminal of more than 160,000 square meters, which will accommodate about 8.5 million passengers a year.
