Caio Carvalho, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan, said: "Large government investments in social and infrastructure housing and tax cuts for the construction industry drove market growth between 2009 and 2010, preventing a significant drop in revenue after the industry contracted by 2.4%."
In the same way, according to the firm, the insufficient supply of raw materials at the local level satisfies only 40% of the total needs of the industry. In Brazil, the per capita consumption of paints is approximately 5 liters, while in the United States and other developed countries the consumption exceeds 15 liters.
