United States. The MLP80000 coating, manufactured by PPG Industries, is the company's first product to comply with the new U.S. military specification U.S. MIL-DTL-32348 Type I, on chemical-resistant paints for military vehicles (CARC).
This coating can be applied in tanks, personnel and equipment transports, as well as in vehicle components, such as antennas or turrets and its CARC characteristics manage to avoid detection with infrared instruments.
The MIL-DTL-32348 standard specifies that paints that comply with the standard must facilitate adhesion between layers and be resistant to corrosion, in addition to withstand degradation by ultraviolet light, resist decontamination solutions and have a low level of brightness, characteristics verifiable with specific validation tests for military work.
