Bayer MaterialScience LLC
The manufacturer has developed new polyurethane raw materials that can be used to formulate coatings that repair themselves. According to the authors, polyurethane gives two-component coatings the property of curing themselves, plus other intrinsic advantages that respond to various customer and market requirements such as: high reactivity and total cross-linking, even at low curing temperatures, good chemical resistance and stability to different atmospheric conditions, hardness, strength and elasticity, hydrogen bonds that allow thermoplastic flow to relieve stress and allow self-restoration of defects.
