Cellulose butyrate acetates (CAB) are used as a binder in protective and decorative coatings for metal, wood, textiles, paper, plastic and leather.
Eastman CABs are used by formulators as binders as they provide excellent color, retention and flexibility, flow control and good resistance to the environment.
CAB esters are also useful as additives for coatings where they provide a significant performance advantage.
Often described as a problem solver, cellulose esters provide qualities of good flow and leveling, fast drying, runoff resistance, viscosity control, adhesion between layers and orientation of metal pigment flakes.
