Europe. The Technological Institute of Optics, Color and Image (Aido) of Spain, with the participation of a group of European companies have developed a new paint for road signs that would improve the safety of drivers, within the project called Multimat.
After three years of research, the new non-slip coating reduces curing times, in addition to improving adhesion on the tracks and is highly resistant, thus avoiding the wear to which it is subjected.
The new water-based formulation incorporates a novel combination of latex polymers, responsible for improving adhesion, which affirms differences compared to what already exists in the market, also ensure that it has environmentally friendly characteristics.
Aido developed this coating together with the companies Grupotec Servicios de Ingeniería, Industrias Saludes, Industrias Químicas Mopasa S.A. and Nueva Tecnología Rehabilitación y Reformas S.L.
