Spain. The Spanish Fisheries Confederation, Cepesca, and the Dutch multinational of marine paints, AkzoNobel International, signed a collaboration agreement in which the company becomes the advisor of the confederation so that its associates can know the technological advances in coatings for the sector.This union will favor fishing companies as mentioned by Javier Garat, secretary general of Cepesca, since the fishing sector will have access to the most innovative and advanced products on the market adapted to its activity, such as solutions that respect the environment and offer better energy efficiency.
Carlos Soler, director of the Marine Division of AkzoNobel International, stressed that products that avoid the incrustations of mollusks and other organisms in the hulls of ships, allow the friction of water with the hull to be reduced and speed and fuel consumption to be gained, enabling savings of up to 9% in fuel consumption.
