International. At Johns Hopkins University, a group of researchers developed a reflective paint that manages to keep an object at or below room temperature and that could extend the life of mobile devices.
The paint was initially developed to coat military ships, however, its characteristics make it possible to work on other objects such as roofs, toys, cars and technology.
The paint developed by these researchers reflects sunlight and passively repels heat, even on metal surfaces, thus contributing to maintaining the temperature of the objects it covers.
The new paint has an almost entirely inorganic composition based on crystallized silicates, is also water resistant (once sprayed and dried), does not harm the environment and is elastic enough to adapt to the expansion of materials without cracking.
