International. Global demand for organic inks and pigments is expected to grow 6% per year to $19.5 billion in 2019, according to a study by The Freedonia Group.
Rising consumer spending will drive increased demand for organic dyes in textiles and plastics, while strong growth in global construction activity will drive demand in paints and coatings.
The increased demand for value will reflect the growing importance of higher value dyes and pigments that meet increasingly stringent performance standards and preferences for more environmentally friendly products.
Despite healthy growth, even the fastest advances will be limited by a moderation in global vehicle production and slow growth in print inks, due to the challenges facing the print media industry.
The fastest growth will be in the paints and coatings sector, driven primarily by strong advances in construction spending in North America and continued growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
