International. BASF and Omya reported on their recent joint work to develop ready-made solutions for coating paper and cardboard packaging.
For the development of these coatings, BASF is providing barrier dispersions, while Omya contributes the pigments and expertise to manufacture these products in its own plants.
The commercialization of solutions for paper and cardboard packaging is initially being carried out in Europe through Omya's sales channels.
This cooperation is their response to the growing demand for these products. In the future, this will represent a service for customers who, due to capacity or plant technology limitations, are unable to prepare formulations and mixtures independently. Coating-ready solutions consist mainly of pigments, additives and functional dispersion barriers.
