Mexico. The company specialized in liquid and powder coatings, Axalta Coating Systems, celebrated having reached the production of 1 million vehicles of the German brand Volkswagen manufactured in the North American country.
The automaker used Axalta's Eco-Concept System, which features features such as reducing the number of layers of coatings needed to paint a new car, reducing time in the manufacturing process, and reducing energy use and costs.
The system is applied at 11 Volkswagen sites worldwide, including five in China. In Mexico, the application was initially carried out at the headquarters in Puebla.
"Axalta has been a strategic partner for many years. By working with them, our ambition has been to provide a coating system designed to make VW more productive, meeting sustainability goals. One million vehicles produced with technology and innovation designed to meet these goals is an achievement that everyone involved can be proud of," said Jesús Jara, business director of OEM Light Vehicles for Axalta Mexico.
