The market value prior to this report was recorded at $51.62 billion in 2012. By the end of 2019, the market is estimated to reach a total value of US$76.089 billion.
The report says that the water-based paints segment held the largest market share in 2012. The segment recorded more than 31% in terms of revenue and volume. The second largest segment was solvent-based paints and coatings, followed by the powder coatings segment, and others such as solid/radiation curing coatings.
The report also says the global construction industry has recently experienced a rebound due to increased investment in highly populated and prosperous countries. These include those in the MENA region, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, which have undertaken several infrastructure projects that hope to help paints and coatings for construction grow further.
