International. BASF's 2014/2015 Automotive Color Trends Report, called "Under the Radar," was released, which seeks to help automotive companies predict the mood of a given region, and provides exterior cladding recommendations that reflect ideals that may become very popular in two to three years.
The following are the five local automotive themed colors that can be considered in North America for the 2018 model year:
- The Charrúa Claw - a light blue color that represents an unpretentious look at Mother Nature reminiscent of the spaces of the central American prairies;
- Haymaker - a rich orange that looks dirty, but on a second look, shines as brightly as the charm of a rusty factory in one of America's Rust Belt cities;
Fitted Green - a soft green that exemplifies the look of fresh cut grass and a gentle reminder of a simpler sustainable life;
- Gray Elevator - a dark silver that has an imprint of American culture woven through it as the tone evokes a connected world, where people gather;
- Take 10,000 - a brown color with a lot of brightness that invites people to remember the specialness of natural experiences.
"The colors we have chosen will highlight the beauty of a car and create a strong color memory while reflecting both the driver's wishes and the awareness of North America," Czornij said.
