Colombia. Andercol, parent company of the Orbis Chemical business, received authorization from the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) to acquire the Polisuin plant in the city of Cartagena, becoming the most important investment that the company has made in its history.
According to the statement, The new Andercol plant in Cartagena will allow it to be close to the port to make its export activity more efficient. Currently, the chemical firm imports about 85% of the raw materials it consumes and exports about 40% of the manufactured products.
Andercol will move the fortresses it currently has in the Medellín plant to that of Cartagena. This includes the knowledge and experience of their work teams.
"The results obtained have allowed us to earn the trust of shareholders to make this investment, and this important project requires from everyone great commitment, dedication and an excellent team, to achieve the challenges it imposes on us," said Rodolfo Bayona, vice president of the chemical business.
