Mexico. With the arrival of new vehicle manufacturers, the industry estimates that during this year the automotive paints business would grow by more than 10%.
According to the National Association of Paint and Ink Manufacturers (Anafapyt), Mexico's market is divided into four sectors: architectural, general purpose, original manufactures and slimming.
The guild of original manufactures manufactures 137,302 million liters of paint per year, where the automotive sector contributes 41% of the production with a total of 56,254 million liters per year.
According to information published on CNN Expansión, Basf would increase its production by 6% by reaching an agreement to supply Mazda's new plant located in Guanajato, where 230,000 cars will be manufactured.
For its part, Axalta, which has links with manufacturers such as Nissan, Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen, expects to increase its production by 10%.
On the automotive market, the president of Anafapyt, David Arciniega, told the international media that "the manufacturing processes, installation of equipment, formulations and quality control that must be used in this type of paint to cover automotive standards is no small thing and this may be one of the reasons why not many companies are dedicated to the manufacture of automotive paint."
