Mexico. The company Petróleos Mexicanos ended days ago with the maintenance carried out on the oil tanker called "Bicentenario", which lasted three months and included the application of coatings against corrosion.
This is the first dry inspection by the staff of the vessel that has now been renewed to sail for another five years continuously.
There were 433 work orders that were attended for the maintenance of "Bicentenario", executed dry in mechanical, corrosive and steel change aspects. The work was carried out by 1,200 employees.
In corrosion, work known as "sand blast" (abrasive cleaning with sand) and paint were carried out, in an area of almost 19,000 square meters. Maintenance was done to the main deck and the entire hull, cleaning to white metal and then applying five layers of paint in order to preserve it and allow a correct operation.
