United States. The Dow Chemical opened a new Northeast Technology Center (NTC) located in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
The 800,000-square-foot facility is a global research and development center for modern laboratory and office facilities, providing an equipped collaboration space for more than 800 employees and contractors.
"More than 50 years ago, this region witnessed the invention of water-based acrylic emulsion technology, an innovation that has revolutionized the way paint is made and became a national historic landmark in chemistry," said Howard Ungerleider, dow's executive vice president.
The NTC will play an important role as an innovation hub for many companies in Dow's Advanced Materials portfolio, a Philadelphia-based business unit that brings different solutions to customers in major and end markets including electronics, consumer and lifestyle, infrastructure and transportation and energy.
