International. Bayer MaterialScience announced that it continues to work on the project of the ultralight aircraft that will go around the world in 2015 powered only by photovoltaic solar energy.
The multinational company is responsible for the design and coatings that the aircraft will use in the cockpit. Precisely one example of this aircraft recently completed a test overflight that crossed the United States with the help of various materials of the German company.
Among the technologies Bayer brings to the device are high-performance polycarbonate sheets used in the cab window, high-performance adhesive raw materials and coatings used in the cab, as well as films for covering structures and fabrics to cover the wing structure.
The aircraft model for 2015 is still being finished which also features the addition of thermal insulation with an ultralight material manufactured by Bayer.
