Colombia. The chemical company Andercol, which is part of the World Group, reported that it carried out a process to reduce the impact of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions at its plant located in the city of Medellín.
Andercol showed a reduction in the average emissions indicator by 5.3% between 2011 and 2012, even with an increase in production of 12.6%. In addition, last year this company made the measurement of Product Carbon Footprint to 11 of its references, which represents a significant advance in the use of this global environmental metric, which will lead them to focus on the points where the reduction of GHG must be worked.
The company assures that these GHG reductions have allowed it to execute better processes in its products, as in the case of Cristalán resin with according to data from the firm, has an environmental impact 66% lower than those of the same category of the market.
