International. A new market study conducted by Ceresana indicates that global consumption in volume of paints and coatings could reach 48 million tons in the year 2019, accelerating its growth compared to the last eight years.
The predictions are that Asia/Pacific will continue to expand its leadership position over the next eight years. At the moment, about a third of global profits are generated in this region.
The report also highlights the evolution of the industry within its development activities, since in 2011, more than half of the paints and varnishes processed in the world were water-based, due to the growth of manufacturers that are developing solvent-free and environmentally friendly products.
