Latin America. With a 30% market share , silver is the most popular in Latin American countries, followed by black with 19%, while white is in third position with 17%, as reported by the 2011 Automotive Colors Popularity Report of DuPont.
Compared to global figures, white is the most sought-after color if the results of all regions are consolidated; in addition to presenting a significant increase in its use, since in 2010 this color reached only the third position with a 16% market share, while for 2011 the report estimates that 22% of cars in the world are of this shade.
On the other hand, neutral tones continue to set the trend in this field, so it is not surprising that the second place worldwide has been for black with a 20% market share, followed by gray with 13%, while red and blue settled in the fourth and fifth position with 6 and 7% respectively.
The above figures are consistent with the report published a few months ago by PPG Industries in which white, black and silver also took the top positions in terms of use and popularity in the global automotive market.
