Germany. The chemical specialist group Altana bought the high-performance additives business from DyStar's Frankfurt base, which became effective on March 30 of this year.The acquisition of the business that has annual sales of around 7.5 million euros (about US$10 million) will be integrated within the BYK additives and instruments division. This negotiation mainly covers additive production technologies, for the processing of plastic compounds and contacts with existing customers. Additive production will be integrated into BYK's main factory in Wesel.
"With the acquisition (...) we continue our strategy to strengthen and enhance our market position of our divisions," said Matthias L. Wolfgruber, CEO of Altana.
