Middle Eastern chemical company National Titanium Dioxide Co., also known as Cristal Global, announced the closure of two titanium dioxide plants in response to falling demand for the white pigment.The affected plants are located in Stallingborough, United Kingdom (with a capacity of 150,000 tons/year) and Hawkings Point, Maryland, United States (with undisclosed capacity). The total workforce affected is 560 people, but production is expected to resume the moment demand picks up.
