Mexico. Comex announced its collaboration as an official product of the Mexican National Team, marking for the first time its incorporation as a commercial ally of the national soccer representative team. The paint and coatings brand, present in 6 out of 10 homes in the country, formalized this alliance within the framework of a positioning strategy linked to sports and community impact.
"We are in a great moment for Mexico and we love to become part of such a valuable and important commercial property, where all Mexicans come together for a dream, forming a single National Team; but also doing what we are most passionate about, selecting our challenges, our passions, our spaces and our colours. We all formed the best selection together," said Leonardo Salazar, Director of Brand Marketing, Product, Media and Loyalty of PPG Comex.
The signing of the agreement was accompanied by the launch of a summer campaign, which included the rebranding of Comex pails and special promotions on select products, available for a limited time at participating stores.
As part of its social actions, Comex announced an investment of close to 30 million pesos for the rehabilitation of public spaces in Mexico City, Jalisco and Nuevo León, entities that will host the next international tournament. The intervention includes facades, paths and 50 sports fields, with the purpose of promoting physical activity and strengthening social cohesion in various communities.
In each intervention, a community consultation process will be implemented to integrate local values in the design of the spaces, with the participation of regional artists in charge of capturing identity and belonging.
"From Comex for a Well Made Mexico, we want to bring passion to where it is really lived: in communities, public spaces, places where color, play and the emotion of soccer become part of everyday life. Because together, we select our challenges, our colors and our passions, building a more vibrant, supportive and full of possibilities Mexico," said Mai Hernández, director of Public Affairs and Social Impact at PPG Comex.
The announced actions are in addition to the Mexico Bien Hecho program, with which Comex has impacted more than 280 communities throughout the country, benefiting 27 million people through urban recovery and environmental improvement projects.
