X-Rite and Pantone LLC Announce 2024 Pantone Color of the Year

Pantone

International. X-Rite and Pantone announced that the official spectral color value for Pantone Color of the Year 2024, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, is available on PantoneLIVE, a cloud-based ecosystem of digital color standards.

As a result, consumer products companies can easily incorporate PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz into their digital workflows to speed up the design-to-manufacture process.

"Visually stunning and appealing, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a nourishing peach shade that inspires us to instinctively reach out and touch," said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute.

"Presenting a new approach to new softness, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is an enveloping peach shade that awakens our senses to the comforting presence of tactility and enveloping warmth," he says.

"Color digitization helps brands cut production time in half by getting color approved faster and more efficiently, while supporting sustainability efforts," said Matthew Adby, director of product management at X-Rite.

"By using PantoneLIVE as part of a digital color workflow, brands can immediately begin designing, communicating color standards, prototyping, and producing PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz in textiles, paints, coatings, and plastics," he says.

Incorporating PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz into Digital Production Workflows

A heartfelt peach hue whose omnipresent spirit enriches the mind, body, and soul, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz presents a fresh approach to new softness. PantoneLIVE Production for Plastics, Coatings, and Textiles makes it easy for brands, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to immediately take advantage of spectral data from PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz and other colors found in the Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors (FHI) system and the Pantone Matching System (PMS) for plastics and coatings.

With the Textile Color Hub, brands can select a color from the PantoneLIVE library or measure physical samples using a spectrophotometer to create a color specification document that includes spectral data, tolerances, and illuminance requirements. Suppliers can immediately start with color formulation and compare the results to the specified color. Suppliers then submit the best result through the Textile Color Hub for digital brand approval.

Creation of 3D visualization twins and digital materials

Brands, designers, and suppliers can quickly and cost-effectively create virtual prototypes or digital material twins using X-Rite solutions. By using the PANTORA desktop application with the X-Rite Ci7000 Series, MA-T12 or MetaVue VS3200 spectrophotometers, companies can digitally visualize the color and appearance characteristics of fabrics, velvets, leathers and meshes to accelerate product development and reduce oversampling.

"PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz adapts to textured materials you want to play," Adby continued. "However, the texture and feel of a material can significantly affect the color and appearance of the final product," he added.

"X-Rite solutions help brands go beyond spectral data to digitize material appearance characteristics such as texture, weave and gloss. This allows companies to create accurate 3D representations and digital prototypes to evaluate and control color virtually before producing physical samples."
