International. Chemours, a global chemical company with titanium technologies, thermal and specialty solutions and advanced performance materials, announced the sixth edition of its annual Sustainability Report, highlighting the company's progress toward meeting its ESG goals.
This, through its objectives of the Corporate Responsibility Commitment. The report shows the company's global commitment and determination to responsible manufacturing of essential chemicals and significant, commonly industry-leading progress toward its goals.
Highlights of the company's operation in 2022 include: overall 30% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gases since 2018, reaching the midpoint of our 2030 target; a 53% reduction in total emissions of fluorinated organic products (FOCs) from the process to air and water since 2018, exceeding the midpoint of its 99% reduction target by 2023.
This is in addition to obtaining approximately 48% of revenue from offers that make a specific contribution to the UN SDGs, as well as committing 36% of its investment of 50 million in STEM, security and environmental initiatives in local communities.
In addition to surpassing its Sustainable Supply Chain goal by assessing the sustainable performance of 90% of its suppliers by 2022, the company highlights the commitment to establish official science-based scope 1, 2 and 3 targets for approval by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
Titled "Responsible Chemistry Essence," the report illustrates how Chemours brings to life its commitment to making chemistry as responsible as it is essential through environmental leadership, sustainable innovation and community impact, while striving to be the best place to work for its 6,600 global employees.
