Brazil. Sun Chemical has released its Spring 2023 Regulatory Newsletter, which includes possible amendments to Collegiate Council Resolution (RDC) 20/2007 and RDC 498/2021 of Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA).

The latest bulletin presents details on the ruling of the General Court of the European Union on titanium dioxide and how it will affect the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) regulation.
The report also provides a wide variety of updates on food contact materials in packaging, including inks, coatings and adhesives.
Among the list of some of the latest regulatory updates on food contact materials that appear in the bulletin is the modification to a resolution of Brazil's national health surveillance agency (ANVISA).
It published CPR No. 777/2023, which amends CPR 751 of 15 September 2022. It provides for risk classification, notification and registration regimes, labelling requirements and instructions for the use of medical devices.
Among the amendments and clarifications of the CPR is the revision of Article 9 on the identification of cases of suspension of certain activities, as well as the repeal of Article 40 on the publication of suspension of activities in the Official Journal.
