Argentina. Sinteplast, a company in the Argentine paint and coatings market, has automated its facilities in Ezeiza, Buenos Aires thanks to the storage solution designed jointly by the logistics engineering company ULMA Handling Systems and the storage systems company AR Racking.
Founded 60 years ago as a company dedicated to paints, Sinteplast has expanded its business by marketing architectural, industrial and automotive products, with more than 4,800 items that are distributed daily throughout Argentina.
ULMA Handling Systems has developed a comprehensive intralogistics engineering project. This, together with the storage system designed and installed by AR Racking, will provide Sinteplast with a warehouse that will automate from the reception of the products, the preparation of orders, until their dispatch.
At the Ezeiza facilities, AR Racking has installed a single-bottom self-supporting warehouse. It is an installation in which the shelving is part of the structure of the building, supporting the load of the stored goods, as well as the exterior enclosures.
The facility also has a high-density miniload system, which uses robotic equipment for the direct handling of plastic boxes or buckets.
The total space of the facilities is 65m long by 46m wide, and has ten aisles with racks. In this project a height of 38m has been reached that allows a great use of space through the vertical growth of the warehouse.
With this installation, the figure of 18,400 pallets will be stored, and Sinteplast will increase its stock capacity to 13 million liters of paint.
In addition, the company will move from moving 250,000 liters a day to being able to ship 500,000 liters to meet the needs of its customers and thus improve its service.
Juan Francisco Contreras, Product Manager at AR Racking, assures that "once this installation is completed, the company Sinteplast will be able to move 100% more liters of product per day than until now, thus being able to increase its capacity and customer service".
