International. Global ingredient supplier Corbion has received a 2023 EcoVadis gold medal for its overall sustainability achievements.
This is the seventh year of Corbion's partnership with EcoVadis, a trusted provider of corporate sustainability ratings.
In its assessment, EcoVadis evaluated Corbion's policies, actions and results at all production facilities worldwide, rating the company's performance in the areas of environment, labor practices, ethics and sustainable procurement.
Corbion's overall score in 2023 was just one percentage point lower than its previous platinum-level rating and second in a row.
"Corbion's choice of 'preserving what matters' as Corbion's purpose has challenged each of our employees to focus on the things that matter most to our customers, our environment and people around the world," said Corbion's Senior Director of Sustainability, Diana Visser.
"Sustainable solutions must deliver on all of those things. That's an exciting challenge, and this gold medal qualification is another important indicator that our global team is prepared," added Visser.
CEO Olivier Rigaud said: "The work we have done to achieve our 2023 gold rating, the progress we have made, and the improvements we continue to make in our sustainability efforts at Corbion give us much to be proud of.
"But sustainability is a never-ending journey, and continuous improvement doesn't happen in an uninterrupted upward trend. Accepting the importance of staying awake to new opportunities to do better and alert to new risks is an essential part of our sustainability mindset," Rigaud added.
