Latin America. The brand of home paints from Argentina, the work of the AkzoNobel Group, presents the color trends for the following year.
"The earth is located as the source of everything: well-being, inspiration and life projects. This is how a Color of the Year inspired by nature is chosen, in addition to four new palettes that reflect the different ways in which it teaches and feeds us, "says a statement on the trends in color palettes of paintings by experts of Alba Pinturas.
He then points out that the central concept to inspire them in this opportunity is "Seeds of transformation" and the Color of the Year is "Winter SilenceTM".
Helen Van Gent, Creative Director of AkzoNobel's Center for Global Aesthetics, describes it this way: "A simple seed works miracles in nature. Made to fly with the wind, to grow with rain, to feed the plant it contains, it is a powerful tool covered with very little skin, a metamorphosis about to occur."
"We chose the seeds of transformation as our theme this year to inspire you to absorb the magic of nature and bring it home. Just like a small seed transforms into a towering tree, a great idea in decoration can turn into something wonderful and change the way we feel," Van Gent adds.
To incorporate the inspiration of their Color of the Year, they chose the name Winter SilenceTM: 'Silence' to evoke the fullness of nature and 'Winter' to convey the magic present in their transformations.
"It is a positive color and they say that, by connecting with nature, it makes our home more welcoming, helping us feel better. It is inspired by the warm tones of dried flowers and fields that give us a sense of permanence," the same statement said.
Trend focused on mental health
As for trends, the first is the focus on mental health. "As mental health problems increase in the world, creating a house in which nature is present makes perfect sense," the company's message states.
Hence a palette composed of shades inspired by gardens, meadows, and forests, which creates an instant connection with nature. "Greens, browns and serene lilacs are colors that make you feel calm and inspired, reminding us of our place in the world. They are also shades that work perfectly with natural materials and domestic plants. Here we see cozy colors with lots of green that reflect the landscape outside." Among them is generous gray, bohemian blue, khaki green, hamster gray and luminous khaki.
Collective thinking
The second trend is collective thinking, which is why there is talk of an optimistic color palette to strengthen the collective. "From a field of wildflowers, these cheerful and harmonious shades bring happiness and energy to the environment. Inspired by the natural luminosity and biodiversity of valleys, fields and meadows, the optimistic colours bring a sense of vitality and integration to the environment."
There are mentioned optimistic tones such as pink and ocher, bright colors that work vibrantly in environments designed for the meeting. "Here, a spacious living room becomes cozy and intimate, with a serene orange wall and Winter SilenceTM on top. The detail of the orange line gives personality and creates a tailor-made contrast, in total harmony with the furniture."
Bioinspiration
The third trend is bioinspiration from raw colors. "Inspired by nature's raw materials, these warm, earthy colors enrich the environment. They reflect the richness and creative potential of the natural resources and designs we see all around us."
Yellowish, champignon, ochre and woody brown tones offer "beautiful" natural colors in a "balanced colors" scheme.
Life cycles
Finally, the fourth trend is called "Life Cycles", marked by serene colors. This invites us to "let ourselves be carried away by the comings and goings of nature. Inspired by the tides, waves and rhythms of the earth, the serene color palette helps create a sense of continuity and balance in the home."
A collection of snail, gravel, sand, warm neutral tones "that feel fresh and timeless and puts us in tune with nature." Here, serene colors provide a subtle backdrop for a contemporary dining area that combines furniture and accessories made of natural materials with black accents "to create a modern, balanced, and comfortable look."
