One year after the start of the Olympic event, the construction and adaptation of all sports venues continues, for which Dow implements solutions to isolate, seal, connect, cover and protect the Olympic Stadium, the Ariake Arena and Ariake Gymnastics Center, and the Tokyo Aquatics Center, among other scenarios.
From coating emulsions and insulation sealants to elastomers for electronic wiring, Dow solutions make it easy to optimize buildings for better performance and a more enjoyable experience for athletes and fans.
It should be noted that in total, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will have 43 venues: eight new permanent, 25 conditioned since Tokyo 1964 and ten temporary venues.

Dow products used in sports venues include acrylic emulsions for protection against corrosion and moisture damage on exterior metal and concrete surfaces, extending their service life; glycol ether solvents for paint and indoor and outdoor water-based coatings, which optimize the stability and performance of coatings, while meeting low VOC requirements. In addition, polyurethanes for sealant applications fill the spaces between walls, doors and window frames, helping to maintain the temperature of Olympic venues along with other sustainability benefits.
