Between June 17 and 22, the Anafapyt Week took place at the Citibanamex Convention Center in Mexico City, with the realization of the Latin American Coatings Show (LACS 2019), which received 5,750 visitors and exhibitors in more than 7,400 m2 of exhibition, as well as the Technical Conference Cycle (CCT 2019). Both events were the meeting point of innovation, trend and business in Latin America for the coatings industry.
There were three business days held at LACS 2019, with 100 exhibitors in 295 stands, where raw materials, test and process equipment, and packaging material, among other novelties, were presented, with the participation of companies from different Latin American countries, as well as from Europe and Asia.
In addition, 85 free commercial conferences were held in the five rooms arranged on the exhibition floor and three plenary lectures.
The Mexican paint market represented in 2018 a consumption of 1,015 million liters equivalent to $3,575 million dollars; generating 12,000 direct jobs, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). The Paints and Coatings industry in 2018 grew in total by 2.6% in apparent consumption against 2017, that is, an increase of 25 million liters, above the growth of the national GDP.
In this regard, Víctor Manuel Leal González, President of the Association commented that "Anafapyt constitutes 75 years of history of development of a key industry, intimately linked to the economic development of the country, which has contributed to the construction of a modern, competitive, industrial Mexico and particularly interested in sustainability", and added that "paints and coatings in addition to beautifying everything, they have the important characteristic of increasing the value of assets, infrastructure and heritage, by protecting and preserving them."
Therefore, spaces such as the Technical Conference Cycle and the 15th LACS 2019 fair, "provide both associates and the Latin American community of executives and technologists of the industry with a solid vision of the future that will allow them to address the challenges of the market and make the business decisions of their organizations", concludes Leal González.
