Germany. Lanxess successfully completed the expansion of its Macrolex dye production plant in Chempark Leverkusen, which was officially put into operation in early May, with an investment of more than 5 million euros, increasing production capacity by around 25 percent.
"By expanding the plant, we are responding to the growing global demand for high-quality dyes in the plastics industry," says Philipp Junge, head of the Lanxess Rhein Chemie (RCH) business unit.
Dominik Risse, Vice President of Dye Additives Business at RCH says: "With the expanded capacity, we can now continue to grow, especially in sensitive application areas such as high-quality plastic packaging. Here, macrolex brand solvent dyes meet very high standards."
The investment is also a clear commitment to the Leverkusen chemical park. "With the expansion of our dyes business in Chempark Leverkusen, we were able to create six additional jobs," adds Axel Lache, the company's Head of Dye Additive Production.
Soluble organic dyes marketed under the Macrolex brand are mainly used to color high-quality plastic products, such as beverage bottles, electronic equipment, car taillights, and children's toys.
