International. Lomon Billions presented a series of novelties in TiO2 pigments during the ECS 2019 fair that took place in Nuremberg, Germany, from March 19 to 21.
The company was promoting its range of world-class, high-performance, specialized Lomon and Billions TiO2 pigments for coatings and inks, including the highly durable LomonR-996 pigment for interior and exterior coatings; the BillionsTR52 pigment for printing inks, and the new Billions BLR-895 pigment for coatings.
"We've been making our TiO2 pigments for 30 years," says Julie Reid, Chief Marketing Officer. "We make our pigments using the sulfate and chloride process. Our latest pigment for coatings is the Pigment Billions BLR-895, developed through consultation with our customers and manufactured using the chloride process for excellent coating performance."
Two new manufacturing lines for TiO2 chloride pigments.
"We are investing $1 million to expand our TiO2 chloride pigment manufacturing capacity in 2019," says Julie. "In February 2018, our board approved a US$285 million investment in the production capacity of titanium dioxide chloride pigment at our chloride production plant in Jiaozuo, Henan Province, China. Two new TiO2 chloride pigment manufacturing lines are being built that will provide an additional annual pigment manufacturing capacity of around 200,000 tons. Commercial production of the new lines will begin this year."
"This investment in additional chloride capacity at Jiaozuo will allow Lomon Billions to grow its portfolio of TiO2 chloride pigments to manufacture more high-performance Chloride Pigments from TiO2 for a wider range of applications," said Bruce Griffin, Senior Vice President of Strategic Development. "It will help strengthen our global competitiveness."
Currently, the company is developing new TiO2 chloride pigments at its 12,000 m2 technology center and chloride manufacturing facility in Jiaozuo that will be launched when its additional chloride manufacturing lines become available.
