Latin America. Dow announces Charly Eid as the new Commercial Director of the Latin American Performance Paints and Monomers business and President of Dow in the Andean Region. The executive replaces Daniella Souza Miranda, who assumed the position of commercial vice president of Packaging and Special Plastics for Latin America.
In the new role, the executive will be responsible for driving business strategies, creating initiatives to generate value and financial results. Its challenge will be supported by the business' broad geographic presence in Latin America, with factories in Brazil and Mexico, and the broad portfolio of innovations Dow offers in the industrial and architectural segments. The director will be based in Bogota, Colombia, and will also be responsible for driving Dow's growth in the Andean Region.
Charly holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, School of Global Management. The executive joined Dow in 2007 in Mexico as Manager of Information Systems and Facilities. He then served as Value Chain, Business Development and Sustainability Manager for the Plastics and Special Packaging (P&SP) business in Los Angeles (USA). In 2014, he assumed the position of Marketing Manager of Food and Special Packaging (F&SP) in São Paulo; and in 2016, he was appointed Product Director of Gas Phase and Slurry for Latin America.
