Wacker announced that it is the first manufacturer in the world capable of using renewable resources to produce commercial quantities not only of dispersions based on vinyl acetate and ethylene copolymer (VAE), but also of other vinyl acetate-based products, all known by the Vinnapas brand.
To do so, the company uses acetic acid generated as a by-product in the woodworking industry. TÜV SÜD, the international technical inspection and certification body, has certified that Wacker's biomass balance method complies with its international standard CMS 71.
Independent certification assures customers that Wacker has replaced the required amounts of fossil resources with an equivalent amount of renewable energy for its balanced biomass products right at the start of production.
Wacker markets this innovative class of products under its new Vinneco line, which covers all its polymer products based on renewable energies.
