International. Sun Chemical released its 2017 Corporate Sustainability Report which details the work the company is doing to increase the use of biofuel-derived feedstocks in its products and shows positive progress on its eco-efficiency goals.
Highlights of the report focus on Sun Chemical's commitment to developing green solutions, including:
solvent-based liquid inks use resins that come responsibly from certified forests,
water-based liquid inks use bioderivative resins that do not affect ink performance,
printed biosensor technology detects pyruvate levels in onions to determine acrimony,
bio-based food dyes are using spirulina derived from photosynthetic bacteria, and
their MirrorTech inks reduce waste by replacing the metallized board with printable metal ink.

The report outlines Sun Chemical's sustainability roadmap, which uses a step-by-step approach to improve the eco-efficiency of each production and non-production facility processes and products by monitoring key metrics to understand and manage their environmental impact.
