International. BASF announced the expansion of its isoyndoline yellow pigment production capacity by around 70% by 2020, as demand for high-performance pigments grows.
The company explained that it looks for bright yellow shades that offer a high degree of weather resistance and temperature stability, particularly in demanding applications involving industrial coatings.
"Following our recently announced expansion into the production capacities of Paliocrom effect pigments, this investment of around €10 million highlights our growth ambitions as one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance pigments," said Dr. Alexander Haunschild, Managing Director and Senior Vice President of BASF's global pigment brand.
Customers use isoyndoline pigments, marketed under the Colors & Effects brand, to meet their growing need for coatings for the automotive sector and the color of plastics.
