Brazil. PPG has announced that its Tintas Renner business in Brazil has partnered with online news portal O Bairrista to revitalize the newly named Embaixada Bairrista house in Porto Alegre.
The renovation of the house was in charge of the company O Bairrista. PPG's Tintas Renner donated approximately 600 liters (160 gallons) of paint to restore the exterior of the house to the required original colors, which reflect the rio grande do sul state flag. Tintas RENNER® also trained the contractors who paint the house to ensure best-in-class application and create familiarity with the brand.
The renovated site, formerly called Casa Boni, showcases the traditions, art and history of the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul and serves as a venue for cultural, culinary, corporate and other special events.
Built in 1922 by Italian engineer Armando Boni, Embaixada Bairrista is a significant example of upper-middle-class housing in Porto Alegre during the twentieth century. Located on Rua Marquês do Pombal in the Moinhos de Vento district of Porto Alegre, the house was declared a historical heritage site in 2002.
"The experience with Tintas Renner® products has been excellent," said Eduardo Santos, director of O Bairrista. "Everywhere the paint was applied, we got excellent results and a distinctive finish. Tintas Renner and the painters were fundamental for the Embaixada Bairrista to become what we imagined".
The painting project refreshed the entrances of the house, the walls, the upper façade, the cinema, the roof, the fountain, the pergola, the gutters, the pipes and the planters. Selected colors include Black Magic, Hearth, and Sun Salutation.
