International. In response to demand for BASF's effect pigments, which are manufactured and sold under the Colors & Effects brand, the company announced that by 2020 it will expand its production capacity of Paliochrom effect pigments by more than 30%.
With this investment of approximately €15 million at the Ludwigshafen and Besigheim sites in Germany, the company underlines its position as one of the leading suppliers of aluminium-based effect pigments that enable customers to create new and modern coatings with high-quality effects.
The latest addition to the Paliocrom family is the new Paliocrom Premium Gold EH 1 (future L 2158) grade, which enriches the range from golden orange to red. This new product launched is a highly saturated half-shadow effect pigment that simultaneously offers greater scrolling, brightness and concealment capability, and supports modern painting technologies.
