International. AkzoNobel secured a two-year contract to continue supplying its dirt-freeing coating, Intersleek 1100SR, to Nakilat (Qatar Gas Transport Co. Ltd), Qatar's transport and shipping company.
Established in 2004, Nakilat operates one of the largest fleets of liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicles in the world and offers a wide range of maritime services such as ship repair, shipbuilding, towing and shipping agency services.
The two companies already have a long-standing relationship and the new agreement means that by the end of 2018, more than 640,000 litres of Intersleek 1100SR will have been applied to 108 of Nakilat's LNG vessels worldwide.
"We are very proud to have signed this new agreement, which reinforces our well-established relationship with such a valued customer," said Oscar Wezenbeek, Director of AkzoNobel's Marine Protection, Coatings and Yachts business. "It highlights our commitment to providing better service to our customers and underscores the fact that boat owners and operators continue to realize the benefits of investing in sustainable hull cladding, including cost reduction and increased efficiency."
