United States. Axalta revealed that it has increased its manufacturing capacity for its global industrial business by investing in the 56,000-square-foot Northern Stacks complex in Fridley, Minnesota.
Axalta will use the facility for research and development, focused application work for its industrial wood coatings business, and storage and coating production in all of its focused business segments. The building will begin production testing next month.
Since its acquisition in June 2017, Axalta's timber business has thrived, and the Northern Stacks complex will add more than three million gallons of capacity to support growing customer demand across the Midwest. Once opened, Axalta will immediately dedicate 20,000 square feet to production space for timber construction products.
"Our wood business is investing in the resources needed to meet the product development needs and needs of current and future customers," said Wade Arnold, vice president of Industrial Wood Coatings at Axalta. "This resort is a testament to our commitment to being a proactive and innovative partner for our customers."
