International. Starting this month, Sun Chemical and its parent company, DIC Corporation, announced that they will increase the production capacity of their Dailube extreme pressure additives by 6,000 tons per year at their eco-friendly plant in Kashima, Japan.
The move will best serve customers around the world, as well as the promotion and delivery of its sulphur extreme pressure additives within new and existing markets.
Optimized for metalworking fluids used in cutting, forming and rolling, Dailube extreme pressure additives are light in color, low odor and are available in a variety of chemical compounds, including olefin, lard, vegetables, esters and fatty acids.
Opened in 1972, the 600,000-square-meter Kashima plant is the ideal location for capacity expansion due to its dedication to eco-friendly production processes, award-winning achievements, and technological legacy. Together with extreme pressure sulfur additives, the facility produces organic pigments, ink bases, metal carboxylates and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) resins.
To reduce environmental impact, the Kashima plant uses steam generation facilities, biomass boilers, solar panels and windmills to power most of its production processes. The facility has received several certifications and distinctions related to quality management, hygiene and safety, and is the cornerstone of Sun Chemical and DIC Corporation's commitment to quality, innovation and environmental responsibility.
