United States. Eastman Chemical Company announced the completion of a state-of-the-art urethane extrusion line at its Martinsville, Virginia, plant. This new extrusion line, along with sourcing partnerships, reinforces Eastman's versatility, reliability and commitment to paint protection films and the window film business.
"Eastman has in-house manufacturing and world-class external sourcing partnerships that ensure our ability to grow, innovate and serve our customers in this growing market," said Travis Smith, vice president and general manager of Eastman's Performance Films division. "The integration provided by this urethane line to produce the raw materials needed to manufacture our paint protection films is a testament to our continued investments to support the current and future needs of our distributors and channel partners."
Eastman explained that he continues to drive investments related to product development, innovation, manufacturing, and quality excellence; and consumer marketing programs to support the development and growth of the protective film and window film markets.
The company has announced a number of major investments in paint protection films over the past year, including 'Performance Films Patterns and Software Center of Excellence', a major capacity expansion at its Martinsville manufacturing facility and the launch of a next-generation paint protection film.
