United States. Axalta acquired a state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility in Sacramento, California, to support growth in its industrial and finishing businesses in North America. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The 150,000-square-foot facility has a production capacity of more than 15 million gallons. Axalta will continue to produce products on-site for its Industrial Wood Coatings business and, over time, expand production to include products for both its industrial coatings and finishing businesses.
"Axalta has built an industry-leading company based on listening and reacting to the growing requirements of our customer base," said Michael Cash, Axalta senior vice president and president of Industrial Coatings. "Axalta will continue to make these necessary investments to ensure we have the technologies our customers need to remain competitive and the manufacturing capability to get those products around as quickly as possible."
"Over the past three years, we've seen tremendous growth on the West Coast, at all levels of the collision repair customer base," added Troy Weaver, vice president of Refinish Americas at Axalta. "This investment in capacity will allow our Refinish business to be closer to those customers and differentiate our service offering."
